#164 Junk Food Company

5"x 7" oil on masonite SOLD

With the house selling/buying stuff we've been doing lately, we really haven't been cooking as much. Junk food is a common staple as of late as are these two condiments. I'm really pleased with how the light came off in this one. I was able to see and adjust the color masses well before moving into variations. House stuff is starting to settle down and come together and I think I'll be able to get back into the swing soon and paint more often.

Nice! Your ketchup looks like it hasn't been used for a long time and it's got a layer of separated water on top.... man, I've got ketchup like that in my fridge. :)

Am I the lucky one to have found your blog, Jeff. Okay, let's see--today is July 14 so you're still in the moving/settling phase. All the more impressive that, with all that going on, you turn out this wonderful little painting. I'm looking at your work and can't believe you're still calling yourself a beginner. Your work is outstanding.

muchas gracias for the compliments. :)

kate- Yup, that's exact it. I love colors it makes along the edges and surface.

Milo-Ha! Yeah but only graduated to the kitchen.

Dar-Thanks much. Good to see you around again :)

Dianne- Very kind of you. I'm loving your blog. Great lessons (esp. importance of Notan). Beautiful work also. I'll be a regular.

Thanks again guys. :)

Good question maddog. Time for me to get back in the saddle. I'm done with the house bs and I'm starting to paint again. Seriously, regular posts coming or strike me dead.
