6"x 6" oil on masonite Sold
I've always thought an entire study of painting could be done just doing apples. There's something nice in the idea that everything you need to learn is right in front of you. It would be interesting to see a series of apple (like haystacks) that show your progression. My old ones feel like a million years ago to me. It's like I just don't see like that anymore. It feels nice, but on the downside I still get flops. Had 2 wipedowns this week and they still hurt, but that's just the way it goes. You sigh, wipe it and then you start another one. This is my favorite painting in awhile.

Yeh, it's a nice one Jeff, simple shape, simple subject but complex and sensitive treatment. I really like it.

I love your take on this one. Apples definitely do have a bit of everything for a painter and they always make a great subject. I love the way you captured all the colors from reds to greens in this one.
i like the way you broke every color note into its most simplistic form and put em back together to make an apple. thats cool.

Wow! Thanks so much for the compliments guys! This one was really fun. Wish they all came off like that. Had 2 wipe offs after this one and abandoned painting for a few days. Ok, time to get back on the wagon eh? :)
