#334 - Ms. Super Star

6" x 6"  oil on hardboard  (currently NFS)

Ms. Super Star was working a concession stand at the Back Porch Music On the Lawn Concert Series at the American Tobacco Campus. She wasn't up on stage but kept striking poses for the camera anyway. The least I could so was to put her in paint.

Happy to see some new paintings on " 120 paintings". "the last beignet" has such great perspective and lovely, thick paint. "ms. super star" is super fly. Great color in the background against her superstar coloring. GREAT job at putting down a stroke and leaving it!!

Thank you Lucy and (as ever) thank very much Carol. I much appreciate the comments. :)

Love your paintings Jeff...great brushstrokes and color. Like how you put down a stroke and leave it...wish I could be brave enough to do that!

Wow, this just popped off the screen today! Beautiful color and brushstrokes. I love the boldness of it all.

Love the colors you used! Plus the blocky brush strokes make it powerfully elegant. Very nice!

This was my biggest commissioned piece yet. The size was kind of daunting for me at first but I really liked the way it turned out (and most importantly so did the client).

Hey Paula, I was looking around your site last week and I love your work! "Happy Baby" is a particular gem! The subtle temperature changes in the skin tones is part of what makes it a knock out! :)
