#214 Seaside Wine

2.5"x 3.5"(ACEO) oil on gessoed artboard Sold

I've been painting on multimedia artboard lately for these ACEOs and I really like em. If I could just get black gessoed and have some water soluble oils that don't take forever to dry m(esp. white) I'd be all set.

hey jeff been following your blog for a while now. i love the almost abstract quality to your brushstrokes, the light shining through this glass is great.

wanted to let you know to try Schminke Mussini brand oils, not their Norma brand. I use them because they have a bit of resin in them and dry fast. add a little medium (i use gamblins neo megilp) and they will be dry in 1-3 days depending on how thick you paint and how much if any medium you add in, even the titanium white. if you are planning to work on a painting over a few days, don't use it because your blobs of paint will thicken and get a dry film on them in 24-36 hours.

lukas 1862 is not water soluble but dry very fast. also try adding something like Liquin (speed drying medium) from where else? Jerrys! LOL no kidding it does work
like the glass with liquid stuff!

I saw one artist who used alkyd White with his regular oils.

Christine-Thank you. I'll check those out. I'm always on the look out for better products (kinda obsessed)

Mike-I hear that Mike. I do use lukas on my reg size pieces. Yeah l;iquin works great but Id love to NOT use a medium. I mean lukas is so perfectly consistent I don't really need it.
