#176 Old Chevy

7"x5" oil on masonite SOLD

I really like this one and it was just a joy to paint. I hope to find a lot more scenes of Durham like this. I wouldn't want to paint anywhere else.

like the way you boil everything down to the core of the scene and then simply describe it. i painted one on black for karin juricks blog Different Strokes of the guy reading the newspaper. what are you using for the black. i used acrylic.
want to paint plein air in durham or raleigh next time i'm up there painting?

Jeff, this one is SO nice... love everything about it! the subtle shadows, the brushwork, the softness in the back of the foliage.

Thanks much everybody.
I appreciate the comments. :)

Mike-The black is actually gesso. The texture is described better here:

Hey, I'd love getting together for some plein air. I wish I could find a durham group but, I go out with a group headed by Rick Bennet in Raleigh pretty often too. Please shoot me an email or something if you're coming into the triangle. :)
