#156 Fill'er Up
6"x6" oil on masonite SOLD
Nope, I didn't put the actual gas prices on there and nope the name isn't a double entendre on the raises prices of gas. It's not a statement about how much money we're spending on gas and how I'm seriously considering buying a bike or moped now. I actually just like the shapes of light and dark in this scene. I found the value composition really interesting. Photo is not so great as per usual but I really like the painting. Outside of the norm for me.

Nice one Jeff! I can see a little influence from Kathy Weber too, good job. Is this painted from a photo or on site?
For me, its the shapes and the colours. It all works beautifully Jeff. It's a triumph! You are right to be proud of it. Would love to see some more urban scenes.
OOH cool.. well done.. i love it!
Thanks very much! :)
It's from a photo but I'm really trying to get out more in the "Plein air" so to speak. Though might be hard to explain to passerbys why I'm painting a gas station. ha! And believe me, people do love to stop and talk to you if you're painting. I'll need to work on my social skills. I'll see if I can get more urban (or suburban) stuff out. It's really fun.
I love it -- such a big scene on a tiny canvas! (And you have enviable edges). :-)
Very cool piece Jeff. I completely understand your interest in the subject. Well done.
