6"x 6" oil on masonite Sold
I don't. I've been lost at sea for about a million years. I just washed up ashore and I'm just now starting to wake from this trance. I may need a few more bonks on the head, but I think I remember what I am supposed to be doing. Now it's time to wake up and begin the seeing habit again. Beware, I'm still groggy (sea sick too) so take it easy on this old primate.
monkey see, monkey do.
monkey sea, monkey deux.
monkey sea, monkey deux.
special thanks to those who sent messages in bottles.

Oh, you were so missed. I would check from time to time. It's good to see, smell paint, handle the materials, hear again the workings of the mind. Wonderful art monkey portrait

Welcome back to the world of joy and frustration. You know you missed it. Hey, Jeff, only you could get the light through the monkey's ear like that. It's a little jewel.

New to art but had found your blog and enjoyed it- so glad to see you back and the Monkey is fabulous.
Keep 'em coming!
I was so excited when I saw a new painting on my blogroll! So glad to have you back. Your blog and watching your progress was one of the big reasons I gave myself a kick in the pants to start painting daily. The eyes will be rusty for a while, but you'll get them back before you know it!
Nice to see you are still at it. I have been following your blog for a year or two now, and your progress is an inspiration.
This monkey is especially impressive! I assume you paint your animal pictures from reference photos? I think your work illustrates that learning to paint still life helps to teach one how to make meaningful use of reference photos (assuming you are using photos).
Good luck, and I'll keep on visiting every now and then to enjoy the latest pieces!
