#35 "Born to Multiply"

6" x 6" oil on masonite NFS

Sometimes I see a narrative form during or after a painting. I'm not sure why but here's the one I saw for this one:

"It happened so long ago it could have been another life. When she first came to this land she created a few of them as friends to love and laugh among the cotton candy hills and strawberry skies. As she grew and time passed she visited less and less. Eventually she forgot where the land was or how to enter and then she forgot her creations entirely. But they never forgot. How could they? Instead they multiplied like the echo of a memory…and waited like a secret aching to be told. So many of them now after all this time, and still…they wait for her."
